The shapes and forms of Africa have grown out of long traditions and a unique landscape: from water pouches carried for long distances over steaming mounds by the Hottentots to the sweep of indigo seas as seen from Cape Peninsula at twilight. The almost creature-esque shape of the Kalahari ottoman reflects the country’s uncommon traits, as do the materials that set it apart: namely onyx leather and rubbed African mahogany, the finish meant to read as if the wood has been treated with Tung oil.
